I am not really doing so hot in posting. It is October already and I just can't seem to catch up with all that is happening around here. I'll just go ahead and post some of the things I have been working on. This past month I bit the bullet and decided to refinish our kitchen table. As you can see from the picture below it was a nice ugly shade of blonde and just wasn't working with my children anymore. If you look closely you can see the marks from a permanent marker that leaked through the paper and stuck to the table. Plus the finish was starting to peel off. So, with a whole lot of sanding, and 1 gallon of black paint, some power muscles and a portable band saw of my friend Karen, (who cut the rounded part off of the chairs) I transformed it into something I am so much happier with.

Can you see the difference in the chairs from this picture to the bottom one? Sorry the pictures are not so great, they were taken with my phone since I couldn't find the cord for our camera!

I love it! It is big and black, but oh so much better! I love the chairs without the rounded top. It looks so much less country to me. It's amazing what a difference some elbow grease can do. It took a bit longer than I wanted it to, but it is done! Total cost of project $20 for a gallon of paint, and I still have quite a bit leftover for other projects around the house! Yippee!
