Christmas Eve!

I can't believe that Christmas has come and gone. I just can't take my tree down yet....I hate it when it's over. :( I'll break down the house tomorrow.

Here are some pictures from our Christmas Eve.

For the past 4 years on Christmas Eve, Lemuel has made pozole for dinner and I make tacquitos. This year Lemuel wanted the pozole to be as natural as possible so he went and got the dried hominy, which required soaking and picking the skin off of each piece, as well as taking the tail off of the hominy. He began this process on Wednesday the 23rd and then began cooking the rest of the pozole. He wanted it to be all done that day so that it could sit and the flavors could mesh for an additional day before we ate it. Needless to say anything that Lemuel cooks is delicious, but this was fabulous! A lot of work, but worth it. I made potato tacquitos to accompany the pozole and it was topped with Lemuel's amazing green salsa.

Here are the boys anxiously awaiting our traditional feast!

The pozole....
the tacquitos.....
Laney all ready to eat!
My boys enjoying their dinner!

Here is a video for Lemuel's family he wanted to post!

I forgot to take pictures the rest of the evening, but we played chimes again, which was interesting with just 5 of us. My brother Hiram gave these to us for Christmas so we have our own set now. We also read from the Christmas the birth of our Savior, sang songs, and shared stories. We ended the night with another tradition of new pajamas and dessert; apple pie and ice cream with homemade caramel sauce! Then we all piled in our room and watched Elf! It was a wonderful night and so worth all the effort. I loved seeing the kids all excited for Santa to come and enjoying wonderful memories together.

Here's a late Merry Christmas. We were thinking about you all when we were driving through Cali. I couldn't remember exactly where you lived, but knew you were somewhere in the area.

Your pictures are really fun! I'm glad you finally posted again:)
